In the presence of the artist.

In Jean Godecharle’s photographic work, the image is not conceived as an end point, but as a process. His photographs do not present a fixed reality; rather, they exist in a state of continuous transformation. What becomes visible is not what something is, but what it is in the process of becoming. The deliberate softness, the emphasis on light, and the tension between detail and landscape turn each image into something other than representation: a moment within an open transformation. The image does not settle into a fixed form, but continues to take shape, also within the viewer’s perception.
